Exploring the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship: Opportunities for Aspiring Tech Innovators
The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program is open to students who are currently enrolled in or have finished a computer science course, or who choose to take an Amazon-provided assessment.
High school seniors who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, or any computer science-related field are encouraged to apply. Recipients will also get a compensated summer internship at Amazon.
Eligibility for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship
Be a high school senior in the United States who is presently enrolled in or has finished a high school or college dual degree course focusing on computer science or engineering. Students who have not taken this course might choose to take an evaluation provided by Amazon.
Plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or another computer science-related field of study at an authorized four-year college or a two-year college with the intention of transferring to a four-year college.
Must be authorized to work in the United States. Example: Holder of an Employment Authorization Document, Permanent Resident, or US Citizen.
possess a cumulative grade point average (or its equivalent) of at least 2.3 on a 4.0 scale.
must provide proof of financial lacking.
Award
The Amazon Future Engineer scholarship program will review your financial aid package after you are chosen as a beneficiary to assess your financial assistance requirements. You will receive $9,000 from the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship if your financial assistance package indicates that you have an unmet need of $9,000 annually.
You will receive the maximum of $10,000 annually, though, if your unmet need exceeds $10,000. Simply put, up to a limit of $10,000 per year, we will pay for your unmet financial need.
Up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is obtained, whichever comes first, awards are renewable. The applicant must remain enrolled full-time at an authorized college or university and maintain good standing with their university in order for their application to be renewed.
Following their first year of college, recipients of the Amazon Future Engineer scholarship are offered the opportunity to participate in a summer industry internship. Our interns collaborate with their manager, tech mentors, and teams to develop initiatives that truly affect Amazon customers while working embedded on a software or hardware engineering team.
Amazon Web Services, seller logistics, and the Amazon retail platform are just a few of the innovative technologies and key systems that interns get to work on. Most interns send production-level code to Amazon by the end of the summer!
